Default 2018 F150 w/5.0L Owners ***TSB 17-2272*** - PLEASE READ !!

Recently I posted this thread concerning TSB 17-2262:

https://www.f150forum.com/f118/2018-...2262-a-402597/

Ford has just released TSB 17-2272. I am NOT stating or even implying the 2 TSBs are related, but I can tell you I had the calibration updated in several of our 2018 F150s w/5.0L fleet vehicles per TSB 17-2262 and (1) vehicle encountered a CEL with DTC P0301 after having the calibration updated. Could just be a coincidence but I don't believe in coincidences - always try to deal in documented facts.

I will get more information this week, hopefully the holidays won't prevent getting this resolved.

Stay tuned - more to come...

I got this done and had a CEL/MIL with P0630, drive it home and cycled ignition and wouldn't go away. Tried to reset with Forscan and wouldn't reset. Took it back to dealer and tech tried to reset and reprogram but same thing.
I explained what I did with ForScan which he was fine with and he asked me to set it back because he said he couldn't restore the AB data which I thought was strange. I took it home and restored my BCM AsBuilt data and reset DTC, all ok.

I changed a couple things back like double honk, etc. but have not changed the speedo values again.

Just to reiterate I don't want to speculate that the revised PCM calibration referred to in TSB 17-2262 is causing any of these CEL issues but it does seem very suspect that these vehicles never had CEL issues prior to the new calibration being installed and TSB 17-2272 is released 7 days later.

So there is a new calibration again? I updated my 5.0 last week, which eliminated the stutter I was getting, I'll have to fire up my IDS today and see if there is another PCM update.

I do not know that for sure but I suspect there is. I would have thought the version of IDS referenced in TSB 17-2272 would have changed to 108.02. If I remember correctly v108.02 won't be available until 1/4/18.

My IDS shows 108.01 as the latest version, later today I'll go outside and see if there is another update to the PCM. I'll report my findings.

Please do. This would indicate there may have been an issue with the calibration previously released.

If the issue was with IDS v108.01, I would have thought they wouldn't have released TSB 17-2272 until v108.02 was available.

So please let me check for understanding...

You had previously updated the PCM using IDS v108.01 as per TSB 17-2262. The calibration has since been updated again with the same IDS v108.01?
