2018 F150 Roush SC
Picking up my new Roush the coming week. Driving it back to Kansas City from Winder Ga. Any tips or words of wisdom. I currently drive a 2010 F150 with 5.4. Had great 151000 miles and time for a new one. Any one with a super charger who has any advice I am all ears. Oh and you stereo gurus I may need some advice. I bought the XLT so it comes with the stock stereo with a Kicker sub. Thanks in advance, I am all ears.

well, for the break in drive, vary the engine speed constantly. don't chill at one speed for too long. Use 7th and 8th gear to vary the revs
Other than that, check out the 'legal racing' section. The guys in there will tell you the roush tune is super, uber conservative and there's plenty of power to be made with a good tune.

Did you buy it from Akins Ford? Just curious why you picked that dealer (over other authorized Roush dealers, assuming there were others who were geographically closer to you but maybe not). Did they have the best price, selection, or ___?

I have a Roush truck and there really isn't any special advise to give other then to just have fun. As posted above, follow standard break in procedures, but don't be afraid to get on it to help seat those piston rings!
One thing I will say is to check what weight oil they put in it, as the 5w-20 the 5.0 came with as built isn't gonna cut it. You are putting a bit of extra squeeze on those bearings, so I'd up the oil weight and quality. I personally run 5w-30, and a used oil analysis said it was doing an ok job. There is a lot of performance left on the table with the Roush tune, so if you ever want more just get it tuned and drop about 1 second off your 1/4th and add almost 100whp.

Yes I did. I am in Kansas City and I searched the internet and found who had the Roush F150 in stock. They did and I made a deal. I was working with Tindol as well in North Carolina. I bought a Race Red XLT with SC. I opted not to get the Lariat because the XLT had leather. I wanted the B&O stereo but since the one I bought had the subwoofer I felt like I could upgrade that system to be a good one. I currently drive a 2010 Supercab 5.4 4x4 FX with Sony and it sounds pretty good for stock. So I figured I could better the system the XLT came with pretty easy. Probably will be hitting up some of you A/V gurus when that time comes. Any way I am rambling but I am pumped and ready to get to driving and doing some upgrades.

I have 2018 but no supercharger. I run Ford full synthetic 5-30. There may be a block off plate in the exhaust on the forward exhaust pipe of the two. If you take that out it gets pretty loud. I put mine back in for the sake of my neighbors on remote start in the morning. Watch out with Mickey Thompson tires if you hit snow or ice. Scary. Switched to BFG due to snow in Chicago. In Georgia you will be fine. With increased power I would do the sway bar from Helwig, keeps the rear planted better. Heard the oil pumps are the weak link with severe abuse and high RPM. They make billet ones for that.
