Default 2018 F150 Build & Price

We know Ford's online Build & Price tool won't be available for several months.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had a user friendly electronic tool that would not only allow you to Build & Price a 2018 F150, but would compare pricing of each option selected as well as the total vehicle build price, to the most recent price list (3/27/17) for a 2017 F150. When finished the tool should provide you with a summary of the vehicle and detailed pricing for each option selected. The tool should also provide the price difference between 2017 and 2018 models both in $$$s and in %.

If you're planning on specing a 2018 F150, break out the 2018 F150 Order Guide I posted on Monday. I have also posted it as well as the Price Sheet here for your convenience. Select the options you want.

Now open the attached MS Excel File. Locate each of the Option Codes you selected from the Order Guide on the Excel file and enter a 1 in column A next to the option you've selected. You'll notice the worksheet is auto calculating the sum at the bottom based on the choices and selections you've made. When complete open the filter bar in cell A2 an unselect (Blanks). You will have a nice printable summary of the vehicle you just built.

Don't forget to include Destination & Delivery (Row 47)

I was very careful when making the tool so all pricing "should" be accurate. Be sure to read he comments in certain cells which will provide additional information. If by chance you do find an error please let me know and I will correct the error.

PS: the tool is not protected in any way so please only enter a 1 in column A and let the tool do the work.

I just used Tmcolegr's spreadsheet above and the 2018 Platinum that I'm planning on ordering is a whopping $120 more than a like equipped 2017. That's good news.

I am glad you found some value in the tool. One needs to be careful when using the tool to make sure they have captured all rows for both the 2017 and 2018 models as some options have changed and are no longer included on the same row (hope that makes sense). You MUST familiarize yourself with the Order Guide prior to using the tool.

Some good examples would be:

The 302A Pkg. You need to capture the 302A Pkg. (Row 53) and 68X Pkg. (Row 193) to compare apples to apples.

Another good example is 50A Adaptive Cruise Control and 50C Adaptive Cruise Control w/ Stop-and-Go and Pre-Collision Assist. You must select rows 165 & 166.

The last example is 66A Active Park Assist. This is no longer offered as a standalone option. Rather it is now included with 68T Technology Pkg. You must select rows 164 & 169.

I think one of the reasons the price didn't increase much between 2 comparably equipped vehicles, is that in 2018 the 10 speed transmission is now offered at no additional cost, whereas in 2017 it was a $500 option even on a 3.5L Ecoboost.

Please keep in mind the tool is only intended to be an aid to make a good decision. The tool will never be able, nor was it intended, to account for incentives that Ford may be offering on outgoing 2017 models.

If anyone needs the 2017 F150 Order Guide I have posted it below.

Looks like the Autobytel effort is very much still a work in progress.

Agree. It isn't even close to accurate.

So does this mean that the 2018 w/ a 3.5EB is going to be $500 cheaper than an identically equipped 2017, at least in theory?

The 3.5L Ecoboost for 2018 is not necessarily less expensive, depending on the std. engine in the trim pkg. and wheel base selected, than it was in 2017. That cost is now in the base price of the vehicle.

What is true is that in 2018 the 10 speed transmission is no longer a $500 option as it is now std on all engines except the 3.3L N/A.
