Slick idea! Looks like it might work on our Ecoboost motors.

Brilliant! I'll try that in a few hundred miles when I change mine for the second time!

Got mine made and sitting in the tool box.

I got a vacuum extractor to change oil in our VW Tiguan when I discovered the engine cover under the oil pan is all but unremovable to allow access to drain plug. Got to say I was impressed at how well that setup worked. With the filter on top of the 2.0 TSI engine, no need to go underneath at all.

you can also just hold the plug in place to control the draining, that way when there's a couple quarts left, you can remove the plug and make sure any debris comes out with more full flow

My oil is WAY too hot to do that. Not to mention messy. This tool takes 5 mins to make and costs $00.00 or less!

Love it! Thank you for posting the dimentions and details. I'll make one before next oil change...
This will work great.

I usually pride myself in not making a mess during my oil changes. First oil change on my 2018 5.0L hurt my pride a bit. Haha. Like a cow pissing on a flat rock when that 3/4" oil stream hits the sway bar. Not good!!
