Sounds like the idle stop system? If so, either turn off via the button, or let the truck manage it automatically. The warning light is letting you know all parameters are not yet met to allow the system to operate.

I think you're talking about the icon in the upper right side of your radio? (Sync with the 4.3" screen) The line through that one means that you do not have your phone connected, or you have the POST CRASH ALERT SOS thing not connected.

how do I make the red slash go away?
I have a new truck and would like to not see red slashes through things.
I had a 2003 7.3 before I bought this truck so things have changed a bit in 15 years.
We bought the truck off the lot last weekend. I drove it home and parked it. Went to work Monday and could not figure out why it stalled at every stop light. I had to call the dealer, said they didnt go over a few things with me like the stop/start.
Wy wife thought I should have known about vehicles doing this she has a new explorer ecoboost.
