I did also. I wasn't saying the B&O was the cats meow but is better, cleaner sound. I throw the balance more to the rear and pump the bass all the way up but only do mid-range about 3/4 and that helped. Good enough for the levels I need and use.

I understand where techieanalyst is coming from. I use to drive around with the car stereo cranked up back in the day (after market) but now just like to hear the music and the train coming. LOL

I guess no car company is going to really spend the money to do a true blue sound system. I've owned from Mercedes, Porsche, to Lexus and they are all fairly close. I bet Bentley and Rolls probably do but they are beyond my funds.

Go drive a Lincoln MKS. I had a 2009, and the THX stereo in that car was an amazing factory setup! And this was coming from a sweet setup in a 2004 Mustang GT Convertible (Boston Acoustic SX-60s on all 4 corners, JL Audio 10w3v2 subs (2), Alpine amps (1000w RMS mono, 750w RMS 4-channel), with Pioneer Premier DEH-P880 PRS head unit.

Good to hear. Of course our trucks cost more then both of those vehicles, much more. I think if our systems just had a better base response would make all the difference.

I don't really care about a hot spot, or whatever that internet thing is called! That is just Ford trying to make another buck I think. Nothing wrong with that as long as you are not cutting corners to do it.

It's a shame when the squeeze one area of the vehicle to pay for another. I too love my variable ambient lighting, but it won't dissuade me from buying a new truck.

The price of the MKS in 2009 was $45,000, give or take, so that's about $50k in today's car money, not too far from a Lariat with the B&O option.

Something I have found out about the sound system that i find very odd is that when playing music such as Country, Oldies, and stuff like Phantom of the opera the bass is ok. But if I switch to rap the bass excels way beyond what the other types do. I think it it something with how the music is programmed or how the unit plays it back because the bass on rap is outstanding and the truck will rattle. The system can do it but it is being held back for some reason.

Interesting, I may need to play with my settings a little more. I have it on surround sound right now but don't have too many good radio stations are near me. Been enjoying Sirius and the comedy channels so doesn't matter there.

I don't know if this was already found but I found an acceptable solution to the roof ditch seam issue many of us face. I installed these and they were easy and look great!

They are on Amazon and eBay and come in black or carbon fiber.

Here is a couple pics after I installed, although the weather wasn't the best. I am happy because what Ford left me with on a brand new Platinum truck was embarrassing and no body shop wanted to touch it. I have a seat blemish too that Ford will not own up to either, very unhappy with their service lately.
