Is there a limit to how long the stop can be before it disengages? Say you're sitting on the freeway during an accident for 5 minutes without moving, will it hold there the entire time?

I haven't found it. And there's nothing in the manual. It will just sit when ready to go again just tap resume or the gas pedal. Love it in stop and go traffic on the beltway.

Yeah I have the first gen which works well enough, but I'd love that improved system with the day-to-day driving I do.

I have lane keep assist and it works ok, but the thing I don't like is that it vibrates the steering column and I can't really tell it apart from the typical road vibration, at least for me. I liked the vibrating seat lane departure warning that GM had on a suburban I rented a couple years back, but am not saying I'd rather have a GM, just that one feature I do like my ACC. Wife didn't think I'd use it that much and didn't want to spend the money, but i love using it when I get the chance.

There is a limit once you come to a stop with ACC. Seems like I remember three minutes, but that sounds long. Checked Ford site but still looking for confirmation.

Only limit I found was 3 seconds, after that you need to hit the resume or tap the gas pedal to go again.

"If your vehicle follows a vehicle to a complete stop and remains stationary for less than three seconds, your vehicle accelerates from a stationary position to follow the vehicle ahead.
If your vehicle follows a vehicle to a complete stop and remains stationary for more than three seconds, press RES+ or the accelerator pedal to follow the vehicle ahead."

As Thugzy said, ACC works great, really depends on your driving mood, if you don’t mind the odd person cutting in then its good, if you have had a bad day, don’t use it :-)
3 seconds is correct, just hit resume and off you go, no big deal, you just have to move your finger.
I have used lane assist a few times, just the vibrating mode, there is a correcting mode too that i have not used. It would be something that i would turn on for longer journeys when concentration levels may drop, good safety feature. Would not use it for short highway driving.
The collision alert system is interesting, there is a red bar that illuminates and reflects off the windscreenand with a warning sound, it has happened to me a few times but has not braked. It has come on when the person ahead is turning left and I cut inside, might have been going quicker than the system likes. Another time i have come up behind someone at a light a bit quick and it has come on but i was just about on the brake anyway. It also spots pedestrians stepping out in front of you up to, I think, 50 or 60 km/h. I am surprised I have not experience that yet, as there are a lot of pedestrians in Vancouver who think they are invincible.
