Is it that loud? Mine is pretty quiet until it gets warmer and then goes quiet. Do you have a video?

I just spoke to Ford Customer Care again, now that I've heard from my service manager. The Customer Care rep wants to continue toting the line that "this has been diagnosed, the service department has deemed it normal, that is all we can do." So, I am allegedly speaking with a supervisor in the next 24 hours. I'm sure they will also tote the same line, but maybe I'll be surprised.

I’ve also had the frozen lock syndrome last week. Rear door would not lock. So was stranded for about 20mins till the door finally locked shut. Once I got home I was unable to open the door, but this issue resolved itself. To top it off, I too have the warped dash on driver and passenger sides. It’s worse on the passenger side. I tried getting Ford to do a by-back, but was declined. I have a lawyer working toward that goal. Still waiting to hear something.

The sound mine makes under light, loaded (uphill) acceleration sounds WAY worse than the rattle on tip-off. It sounds like Im dragging a tin can in the road, it sounds random, it doesn't do it all the time, and sometimes it goes on as long as I manipulate it and sometimes I cant repeat it. I wonder if there is a pile of gravel in my skid plate rattling around or something....
2018 5.0 7K miles.

Ask them since it has been "diagnosed" to tell you exactly why it is making the noise? For what reason is there a noise and how is the noise produced. I bet they can't tell you. Then ask them how they come to the conclusion that something that isn't explainable is considered normal?

That's my plan. There wouldn't be a TSB with the words "some vehicles" if it applied to "all vehicles."

Also, I just clicked through all 66 pages of this thread. There are 52 people in the thread who have confirmed they have 2018/2019 5.0L F150s, are experiencing the noise, and are still experiencing it after the TSB has been applied and other parts (infrequently) swapped out. Only a few (three or so) have pursued the buyback or dealer swap route and all but one has been successful.

Wanted to have some data ready for Ford when they call back today.

those are the only people to notice. My wife will drive my truck and notices nothing because she listening to XM radio cranked up.

Right. I know many more trucks have this issue, and many owners don't notice or care. But, worth being able to tell Ford how many people are complaining on here.

I park in an underground garage every night, and oftentimes at client sites as well for work. The noise is amplified in that environment and it's supremely annoying, on top of concerning mechanically.

I had the TSB last week and noise is gone when engine is warm but def there just as bad as before when engine is cold. So, an improvement but not a solution.

Same number of clicks when you let off the gas no matter what rpm is has me thinking its not a chain- has to be something mechanical.

What is Ford saying or doing about the same type of rattle in engine for the 3.5 eco owners?
The 2017+ trucks with 3.5 eco engines have start up rattle and engine rattle when revving engines.
