Locally we have just put on a set of stainless works 1 7/8 longtubes on a rcsb 5.0 and lemme tell you it screams straight to the 7500 rpm shift point setup on it.

Mods:

170 tstat
catchcan
18 gt manifold
JLT intake
Stainless Works 1 7/8 longtubes to a 3" internal x-pipe magnaflow muffler

Sounds great and hauls ***!!

A ported 2018 GT manifold is the one to beat currently. You can google "coyote intake manifold comparisons" and find some good results. VMP just recently did a whole dyno shootout.

I turn 7100 with my ported Boss 302. 7200-7300 is pretty normal though for trucks with manifold swaps.

So it sounds like the engine can potentially make more power, but the calibration limits the power. Maybe that's why these tuners are getting so much HP out of the 2018 trucks.

That’s exactly why. The mustang stock cal has a limit but not until 500+ hp. Consequently, tuners have got almost no improvement out of the mustang unless they switch to e85.

Lots of fun to be had with 7500rpm shifts.

I am selling the CAI / Mustang Mani / SCT X4 for those that want that setup. The X4 won't work on the 2018's, but the rest is up for grabs. I had mine setup for 7200 rpm shifts. Didn't seem any faster than the regular mode 6800 shifting though.
For the 2018, I am sticking with the truck manifold and an OZ tune, shifting at 6750 is the plan.

thats a sales tactic by VMP. That “shootout” is fake. The Cobrajet is way better even the Boss is too.

Todd?

Well, we all have opinions....
Some of us even have facts. Some of us.

Your opinion isn’t a fact. The facts are VMP is selling these and jacked up the price. Any real racer in the Mustang community has called BS on VMP and the BS shootout. You clearly don’t know much and are taking the bait
