2018 5.0 buyback approved
Hey guys. So ford approved my buy back today for 2018 f150 xlt 5.0
The tranny was replaced at 400 miles. I complained enough due to the super loud wine/grinding noises and they actually replaced it. about a month later on cruise control ~80mph my tranny downshifted randomly. thought it was weird stepped on the gas and it downshiffted to 8th and started bucking. Looked in the rear view and all i saw was smoke. The thing was overheating which caused the bad shifts. so long story short they had it for a month couldnt root caused and today they called me to approve the buy back.
Now what do i buy?

You got a bad truck/10 speed trans. and ford is making it right. If you want a 5.0L then get another one. I would test drive it for a while to make sure you like it. I love mine and it's smooth as butter.
Good luck with your choice.

I'd look hard at a hemi ram. The interiors are super nice, the Hemi is a runner and I really like the 4 corner air suspension. Not to mention you can probably get one cheaper.
Not saying Id for sure buy one if in your position, but Id at least go for a test drive.

Often you can do better negotiating than X plan, if you care to haggle some.
