You can usually get a better deal if you combine x-plan with factory incentives. Dealer incentives are the only ones you lose with a-plan or x-plan. So, it really depends on which incentives are available. A reputable dealer will run the numbers for you both ways. I have purchased both ways to get the best prices.

This is what i did when i was purchasing. Old man works at the dealership. Xplan and factory incentives > dealer incentives + factory

Anyway just been looking around and really for 40-45 i cant find/build anything id want. ford still wins . ram is definatley nice but 1 the rebel interior is ugly as hell. the laramine built to what i want is still $$$$ compared to what i get with xplan xlt and tasteful mods. Its honestly between which motor because the 10r80 almost seems to pair better with the eco boosts.

A-plan is for employees and X-plan is for friends/family and certain companies that do business with Ford. I would say you got a pretty good deal previously paying around $41k.

When Ford get is right the 10R80 with the 5.0 is very sweet.
I guess some have had issues, but our's is very nice.

Agreed. I think the "new" 5.0 ...this with the 10r80 is a sweet setup. i agree and with 3.55 it was a great blend. I just couldnt take the whistle/whine of low speed shiifts. It was not even enjoyable to drive with window down. sounded like loud brakes on a new tranny . :/ would be hard to gamble that twice.

Am I missing where there were issues with the engine? You had a transmission issue, the 3.5 uses the same transmission. The transmission tuning might be better for the 3.5 because it's been in the 3.5 trucks for a year longer.

Between your subject line and this post, I suspect you intended to rile people up. Nothing wrong with the 5.0 (nothing wrong with the 3.5EB either).

What did Ford say about the whine/whistle at low speed shifts? I currently have the same issue for my 5.0/10r80, and it's driving me crazy as well. Definitely not enjoyable to drive. Other than the noise, I really haven't had any issues... Assuming they will not offer me a buyback just for the noise?I can't accept the noise as being normal...

his dad works at the dealer so I think they are probably more accommodating to buy back.. plus they can prob sell it used for 2k more than what he paid for it with the discounts

also i think some one fixed the sound with a throttle body spacer

Just guessing but you're the only one who seems to have become riled up so I would say you're in the minority here with your assumption.
