2018 -2019 Front bumper lower valance ??
Anybody remove the lower bumper valance?
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...f508fd9cfc.png seem very big to me. I know that Ford engineers use a wind tunnel when researching a body style change and it has some aerodynamic function. But I wonder how much? I made a 200 mile trip last weekend through the Texas hill country I got an avg 21 mpg. I am thinking of removing bumper valance before making the same drive this weekend. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...afff81e12d.png |
Yes I have removed mine on my 19, just 8 or 10 screws and popping it out of the plastic clips.

Would be interested to see if the MPG changes when this is removed...

Many of us have cut it down as well. Maybe keeps some of the benefits, but doesn't look so hideous.

I removed mine when I leveled my '18 XLT. I still average 18.4mpg.

Mines a 17 not an 18 but I removed mine and say literally no difference in mpg |
Mine was cut in the center for the plow frame on my 2019. I'll be moving south and won't need the plow or frame.
I'd like to replace the chopped valance with a more racing style dam that swoops forward. Anyone know of one available? https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...fe665a779f.jpg |

it says in the owners manual you can remove it.

I removed it on my 19. Drove over 1000 miles at interstate speeds and high winds.. Didn’t notice any flutter or other ill effects. MPG hard to tell cause pulling a 2 place open sled trailer. Averaged 13.6 mpg indicated but probably at least 12.6 real world based upon previous calculations over numerous tanks to see how far off the display is.
