2018-2019 f150 auto start stop Mess FIX!!

[snip...] The start/stop does save fuel but is hardly perceived by a customer, much more of a benefit for Ford CAFE. When emission credits hit US market like they have in Europe, it will be a bigger advantage and rumor is eco credits could be retroactive. [schnippe...]
Is the writer saying that a) the United States is trying to play catchup to Europe in how it distorts the market to keep the enviros happy ? or 2) that Ford is such a globalized company that it designs to lowest common denominator (ie, Europe)? or iii) both a and 2 ?
Any way, it smells like we're getting ever-less-customizable-ever-more-expensive-even-more-globalized vehicles good and hard whether we like it or not.
I'm in my late 50s now, and my 2017 F150 will probably be the last truck I buy new. Hopefully I can get the same life out of it I got out of my 97 Ranger (which I would still have if it hadn't ended up in a river, but don't ask). Unless they tax me out of it for my own good. 20 years from now, I'll be riding around in the silver citizen bus... if we haven't all switched to tricycles for our own good.

For those who don't mind pushing the button every time- good for you. I'm annoyed at having to insert a key and turn it (I couldn't afford a Lariat with keyless fob).

2019 F-150 XLT 2.7L Ecoboost AGM Battery Test Data
Hello All, I would like to post my field test data with Auto Start/Stop Disable by FORScan.
I believe many people are interested in these data. After Auto Stat/stop button has been disabled, I want to confirm that this modification has minimal side effects on my truck:
(1) Battery charging still works in normal procedure.
(2) Battery will NOT be failed because of over charging or over heat
Your comments are very much appreciated.
Background:
-MY 2019 F-150 XLT 2.7L Ecoboost with AGM Battery Ford BAGM-48H6-760
-Manufactured in Sept. 2019 and purchased in Dec. 2019 at Vancouver BC Canada
-Measured battery voltage in the first two weeks after purchase and it was 11.9V - 12.6V after driving. I went to the dealer and they said it is normal.
- I do not like Auto Start/Stop and I want to disable it.
What I did:
Using FORScan, ONLY change BdyCM 726-48-02 as described:
These data were recorded on the way of my normal driving, using FORScan Dashboard or Table.
Before modifying BdyCM 726-48-02, i.e. with Auto Start/Stop enabled, I did the following two tests for later comparison.
As you can see from above table, charging current becomes 0.0A when engine is idling and battery State Of Charge is about 80%. When driving, charging current is always changing between +16 or more and -10 or lower. It seems that the battery could not be charged to more than 90% State Of Charge.
After I disabled Auto Start/Stop using FORScan, I have done the following tests.
As you can see from these data, battery State Of Charge is now 95% after modification.
My most concern is that the recorded battery temperature is over 60 degree C even weather is not hot (8 -16 degree C in Vancouver Canada at this time). Driving in summer the battery temperature may be much higher. Is it still safe for the AGM battery?
Thank you very much in advance for your input.

Yup this works fine for me
I just bought a New King Ranch with this BS at red light mess! So I looked all over forum I must be blind because I couldn’t find a simple fix but the jumper wire behind switch that I didn’t care to do. But then discovered to just unplug this wire from above pedal. Everything else still works that I can tell. I'm sure most of you know this but I couldn't find the answer on here so posting it again if it is on here SOMEWHERE easier for the next guy to find
I have had this unplugged for a year and half now with no issues. Works great... Just a NOTE: Other than when I want to tow my boat trailer I plug back in so the trailer lights work.

I agree with the fallacy of estimated battery temps. Measure it or ignore. More likely the majority of the batteries actual temp is related to underhood temperature than anything else.

I unplugged mine a couple weeks back and it certainly put an end to the *** but it just seemed too simple of a fix and I was concerned that it would negatively affect something important and unseen so I plugged it back in again.
The *** doesn't really bother me too much as I live in the country and don't encounter many stop lights but thought I'd give it a try but now I just continue to push the disable button.

-When you plugged it back in did it go back to
normal? I plugged mine back in after unplugging it, but now the start/stop feature is still just permanently off after multiple times of turning the truck on and off.
-Also, does having this unplugged at all affect warranties? I heard it would possibly mess with some other codes and then they could tell that it’s “been flashed”???

Plugging back in will have no detrimental effects and no code to indicate it was unplugged. If not working you have something else causing it. Read all the auto stop start threads and you will many references to the wide range of parameters that will disable. Could be anything from air temp to ac configuration to having something plugged into your outlet.
