Unhappy 2017 Stolen Wheels - Questions how it happened

I bought a used 2017 F150 from a Chevy dealer about 30 minutes away on Saturday evening. On Tuesday morning (60 hours after buying it) I woke up to find my truck sitting on blocks. Someone stolen my factory 20" wheels in my driveway. They even took the lug nuts.

This evening as I was putting on my replacement wheels and tires I set off the factory alarm twice when jacking up the truck. The first time was immediately when I started (didn't unlock the truck before I started). The second time was after the truck automatically locked itself. There is no way that my wife, both kids, myself and my neighbors would have slept through that on Tuesday morning.

This brings me to my question. It is possible to jack up the truck without setting off the alarm? On Monday night, I am positive that I locked the truck and had all sensors turned on. It ask every time I turn it off. When I bought the truck I only got one key. So there is another key out there.

They may have hacked your alarm and turned it off with a scanner box.

Maybe someone at the Chevy dealer loved those wheels. Never been broken into ever in 40 years 10 years ago i bought a very high end computer with monitor etc, next day gone from my house, ****** even took the power cord. 100 percent positive it was some computer geek at the store that told his buddies. Cops said no way to prove it.

My guess......
You had the key fob in your pocket and were setting off the panic alarm. I had to disable the panic button on mine as I would always set it off crouching down. Hell, I can even accidentally start the wife's durango if the fob for that is in my pocket.

If there was another key used why wouldn't the thief just have taken the truck to some other location to completely remove the risk of detection while doing the thieving?

Sorry about your loss. But it happens.

I think the day after I purchased my truck I bought wheel locks at the dealer. Too many reports in my area of thefts to take a chance.

The wheel locks will only slow amateurs down. Pro thieves carry master key sets or extra sockets to pound onto the lock.

Hopefully the POS crashes the truck he puts the stolen wheels on. Thieves are the lowest form of sh*t
