Default 2017 Silverado & Sierra

Still no blind spot monitors, or adaptive cruise control. Still using old engine technology. 10 speed transmissions developed by Ford/GM not available.

Yes! Like a rock, they sit in your yard, and moss grows on them!

Don't forget, you are locked out of the 6.2L engine in anything less than an LTZ and you can't get A/C vents in a crew cab or extended cab no matter what trim level it is.

I think that body style was probably the best one GM has ever had. Those are good looking trucks even by today's standards. I've always been a Ford guy, but I think GM had the nicer looking truck in those days.

Good points, 360 degree camera view isn't available, and they are still developing aluminum bodies...always behind!!!

I looked at them, and I hate the steering wheels, and the dash configuration around the stereo (other than their cool link system with the apps from your phone on your truck) but I have been a chevy / GMC guy my whole life, and the 2015 and 2016 F150 are more appealing to me. I sold a 1991 K150 Sierra stepside and traded in my 2004 avalanche to get my new F150 XL

Totally agree. I think that was one of the best and I still think those are good looking trucks.

I dont know why everyone gets all hung up on the technology aspects of car/trucks/suv . More tech stuff is just more things to break and cause problems. Dont get me wrong the blind is neat, if need adaptive cruise control you probably shouldn't be driving, you should be paying attention IMHO. i have driven cars a long time without it. I prefer a reliable truck over any truck with all the technology stuff. Its one thing ive learned over time.

I had a 97 Chevy and it was a nice truck. IMO the dash of the 97 was nicer than my 13 F150. Unfortunately I went through 2 transmissions in that truck.

We have had a 2000 Silverado regular cab V8 in the family for 17 years. I learned to drive on it and bought it to use myself. It has been a solid truck with very few issues other than the typical GM stuff from that gen like fuel pumps, alternators and water pump. Haven't had any other mechanical problems beyond wear and tear. It's on it's original brakes, just changed out the original shocks, original wheel bearings, springs etc at 160k miles. It left me stranded once when the alternator went out, otherwise it has started every morning for almost the last 2 decades.

That said, I think the quality really fell off the rails after 2006 when the
'07 came out and it has been an underwhelming product ever since, IMO. They lost our family business after we experienced 3 lemon GM's in a row from the '07-'13 generation.
