Talking 2017 Roush Lariat Need Front License Plate Mounted

Hi all. New to the forum. Picked up my new truck yesterday, 2017 Roush Lariat, Magnetic. First off, I've been visiting this website daily for weeks before finally pulling the trigger. Thanks for all the info here. It really helped me to make a smart educated decision, but driving it really sold me! Absolutely love it. So on to the question...truck didn't come with a front plate bracket already install. Dealer said they would drill it into front bumper, but I'm obviously not wanting to do that without finding out her options first. Massachusetts requires to display front plates otherwise I would leave it alone because it looks better without. I've searched the forums and there's very little info on f ont plate mounting, especially on the Roush which has a slightly different front cover. Anyone have any thoughts, suggestions, or fabricated something not intrusive? Preferably drillless? Thanks in advance!

I've seen them screwed in to either side black bumper insert. The plate is almost that size, it looks ok. I left mine off for now, legally I need it, but so far, it's been ok. I keep it in my centre console so I can say it "just" fell off and I need to make an appointment to put it back on.

I think the stock Ford one should still snap into place on the Roush, but if it's supercharged, you want to keep it clear for the intercooler.

Not supercharged. Had to leave room for improvements...and not break the bank. Lol. Was trying to avoid putting holes, but if that's the only option I will. However I really like your center console, "fell off" idea.

Can you get away with just throwing it in the windshield? There's gotta be a better way than drilling holes...

In Ontario they are mandatory and there is an optional mount that they charge us for. Have your dealer order the front license plate mount

You can always use two sided moulding tape so you don't drill holes. Or put some on the back off the plate, drop it in the dirt and get dirt all over the tape..... then drop it in the centre console.... I'm sure you know where I'm going with this.

The black middle portion of your bumper...is it plastic or painted steel? Thanks!

Buy some rare earth magnets and gorilla glue them to the back of your plate and on the inside of your bumper. The rare earth magnets are insanely strong. Use some felt or something else between the bumper and your plate to provide a buffer. Take it off when you go mudding or something and put it back on when you're done.

Here's one that looks like it just snaps in.
