Mine are with the powdercoater now. Going with black textured. It's between matte and gloss. I think it'll look good. Should know in a couple of weeks. I wasn't in a hurry since I still need to find tires and order suspension kit.

I saw those at the dealer and liked them so I thought I would ask how much they were. $795/each I haven't seen them on e-bay for less than $2500 for a set of 4 with tires.

I just got a set of the regular raptor rims for $600 total. With tires and powdercoat, I'm looking at about $2k total.

I called Stage 3 to ask about wheel and tire fitment. I've pretty much decided to get the Boss Stage 3 Trail Suspension Pack 2. It comes with the coilovers for the fron with up to 3 inch lift, 3 inch blocks for the rear, and the Icon UCAs. Website says in order to use the Icon UCAs wheels must have max backspace of 5 inches Raptor wheels are just a shade over 6. During the discussion (can't remember who I talked to), asked what tires I wanted to use. I told him I wanted to go with the Raptor 315/70/17, he said they would rub like crazy, even at 2.5 inch lift. Said the tires would rub on the UCA. He also said I wouldn't be able to use the Icon UCAs unless I put a 1 inch wheel spacer on. I wanted the new UCAs because I didn't want to deal with ball joint issues down the road. I plan to keep the truck for a while. A lot of people on here saying the 315s fit no problems with little to no rubbing, but this guy said in is experience they are a huge pain and would rub a lot requiring a lot of modification to crash bars, bumpers, fenders. Does this make sense? He recommended I go no bigger than a 33 inch tire unless I go with a 4 inch lift to get 35s to fit. He said max I should go is 295/70/17. I'm OK with that if it doesn't require any mods for rubbing.

So I'm looking at ordering the Boss suspension with Icon UCAs, 1-inch wheel spacers, BF Goodrich 296/70/17 or 285/70/17 to mount on standard Raptor wheels powder coated black.

Anybody think this is bad? I haven't spent any money except for the Raptor wheels so far.

From everything I’ve read, you can run the factory raptor wheels and tires on a reg F150 with a level without rubbing or any mods (UCAs, crash bars, etc). If I remember correctly the raptor wheels have like 10mm less offset than factory 150 wheels. The Icon (or any aftermarket Uniball) UCA is much beefier especially being a uniball rather than a typical ball joint which is why more offset is required for fitting without rubbing. If the offset measurement on the raptor wheel compared to your stock wheels is greater than the measurement of the stock UCA to the Icon, you should be fine. You could order spacers and return them if not needed.

You said you want aftermarket UCAs to avoid any potential balljoint issue in the future but uniball aftermarket uppers will actually be more maintenance. You could possibly swap a stock upper with a blown ball joint quicker than you could rebuild (remove and replace if needed) an aftermarket UCA/uniball. Unless you’re gonna push those boss coilovers to or past their limit, you’ll be fine with stock UCAs.

Thanks. I was told I could use the stock UCAs with no problems, but the stress would tear up the ball joint sooner than later. I don't plan to do major off-roading. Occasional trails, but nothing extreme. I was more concerned with having to do any trimming or modding to crash bars. Guy at Stage 3 said the 315s would be a lot of problems and to take what I read on forums with a grain of salt. I've seen both sides here on this site, some saying there is rubbing, others saying none. Stack Raptor wheels are 32mm offset and 150mm backspace. I think the stock Lariat wheels are 44mm offset.

Search your local craigslist for "Raptor" in the wheels and tires for sale section. you'll find em.

So 12mm less offset I was close. No offense to whoever you talked to at stage3 cuz they seem knowledgeable but unless that dude has a 2015+ with raptor OEM wheels/tires (with icon UCAs) then he is guessing what will work. I personally would believe the very helpful and knowledgeable guys on this forum that can tell you for sure what fits on their particular truck. Just my opinion. If you’re worried about rubbing with Icon UCAs get some spacers that you could return and have your tire shop test fit some 315s on your raptor wheels once you have the UCAs installed. BUT my opinion, you don’t “need” aftermarket UCAs for “occasional trails, but nothing extreme” as you said. I ran 33”s, Fox shocks, and STOCK UCAs on my last truck for 30,000 problem free miles before I traded up. I ran the occasional trail and my suspension components to include the stock UCAs were all in great condition. My ball joints didn’t get all tored up from a level and heavier tire like they’re suggesting lol.

I just put on 285/70/17 and no issues at all. Still room to spare. I have a 2in level.

Thanks for all the input. I think I'll nix the UCAs and stick with the stock UCAs. I'll go with the HALO Lifts Boss coilovers and rear shocks with a 2.5 inch rear block and set the fronts at 2.5 inch also and then adjust down if needed to get level. 285/70/17 seems to be a good size.
