My truck has some of the same issues yours has, but I've had 1,500 pounds in the bed and truck held up great. Yes, it drops like anything else would once weighed down, but not that much.

Newbie, so excuse me flaming my new truck.
After many trucks, including older F150s and my last two trucks being Ram 1500, I decided I wanted something different. I didn't like the GM products styling so decided I would get a F150 Lariat. This is a expensive truck for sure with a MSRP of 62900. It has many more options than I would of chosen, but I figured I would be retiring soon, so I would splurge a bit.
Crew cab, 5.0. 4wd. FX4 off road
The bad:
1. this truck vibrates all the time from different locations. The steering wheel, transmission shudder when in overdrive at slow speeds, etc.
2. Horrible suspension. When I loaded about 400 lbs. in the rear the truck bed dropped significantly. I cant imagine if I loaded the bed heavier or even attempted to pull my 20ft enclosed trailer. (didn't realize the tow rating is only 7000lbs.) Even worse, this truck has a horrible rebound in the rear when at seed over dips and rough roads. It feels like something kicked the rear of the truck. I did a 500 mile trip this week, and I fell beat up over the ride. I did order a pair of Fox 2.0 shocks based on what I read on the forum, so am hopeful that helps. Of course the dealer tells me all is normal.
3. Wind noise. I don't know exactly where it is coming from, but I suspect the sunroof, which I rarely use and could of lived without.
4. Lastly, what is up with the radio antenna? 31 inches is a joke. It you garage the truck you have to buy a aftermarket antenna. 21 inches is fine.
I expect a lot better job at engineering from Ford. All of the other Ford product I have owned were fine, so obviously something has changed.
If it wasn't for the trade value beating, I would go right back to a Ram. But for now I will enjoy my nice looking F 150, and frequent this Forum for the valuable information to make this truck a bit better.
Sorry for the rant, after a couple adult beverages I will feel better!
I've had a few trucks, a 2004 Nissan Titan Crew Cab 4WD Off Road package truck, a 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Crew Cab 4WD truck, a 2010 Ford F150 Crew Cab 4WD truck, a 2012 Ford F150 Crew Cab 4WD truck, and now a 2016 Ford F150 Crew Cab 4WD drive truck.
My 2016 is actually a hair quieter as far as wind noise is concerned compared to my 2012 and 2010.
Transmission reacts the same as my 2012 (it's the same trans) and better than the previous generation 6R80 trans in my 2010. There is clunking and harsh shifts associated with these electronically controlled shift pattern, transmissions. It's the nature of the beast.
I had vibrations that ended up being that the tires were out of balance. Weird effect that didn't follow unbalanced tire shake of other vehicles.
What I learned years ago with Off Road package trucks and SUVs, if you don't need the Off Road package for hunting, where you live, or entertainment, DON'T GET IT. They all suck for on road driving. The suspension is softer, causing bouncing on every bump and dip to 'absorb the harshness'. Off road, this type of suspension is advantageous, on road, it's causes instability.
And if you tow, you want a stiff suspension, just the opposite of an Off Road Package's soft suspension. It can cause even more instability with towing. That's why GM doesn't include their Z71 package on their Max Tow package. In fact you get their stiffer suspension for Max trailer package. I honestly don't know what Ford is thinking having their FX4 packaged with the Max Tow package.
As far as the rear suspension, it's the stiffest and strongest suspension I've had a in a 1/2 ton truck. You can't compare the weaker coil spring suspension of a car or Ram truck to a truck with stronger leaf springs. Read here.

if you put on an aftermarket antenna, the wind noise may be from that. I put on a 14" antenna and the wind noise started. Took the antenna off and put the stock back on and the wind noise stopped

2016 XLT 5.0 Crew 5.5' bed... purchased used through Ford's Certified Pre Owned vehicle program and from a local dealership. Truck was a former Enterprise rental and had 16,500 miles on it when I drove off the lot and headed home.
I've not ridden in very many trucks quieter than this one. It's as quiet as a coffin. No wind noise, no vibration. And I barely if ever hear the Firestone All Terrain tires I put on it. They're as nice as the Michelins I took off of it. Every time I'm up on the road I am pleasantly surprised at how smooth and quiet my truck really is. Somebody pinch me! I must be dreamin...
I love my truck. I wish you did, too.

Had a 2012 Ram SB that was great for 5 years and 58K....gave it to my Son and got a 17 SC 2.7 in May....I can honestly say the only issue was with the antenna...got a 13" shorty off ebay...as far as ride and noise....ride is smoother than the Ram....and wind noise is barely noticeable (Ram sounded like a Hurricane through the windshield).....there is a little bounce in the rear at times on rougher roads, but not a concern. I've had 20 bags of mulch in the bed, and it sat good...no sag. I must have purchased a truck made on a Wednesday.....lol....
