So one truck made it to 200k. There are 5.4 three valves running around with 3-4 hundred thousand miles on them. If they dude really took good care of it, good for him! Most people don't though.

It’s not the first and it won’t be the last.

Pro tip: If you don’t maintain any vehicle, you aren’t going to get to 300-400k miles.

God I just shot milk out my nose laughing at your pro tip. That's a big ten four there Captain obvious! Haha

I've also seen many people take care of a vehicle and still loose an engine or transmission.

I drove a 2016 3.5 Eco Platinum with 3:55, and the truck was great to drive for 2 years. I have driven (on a 3 hour trip) my coworkers 2017 ECO 3.5 with 10 Speed and was much more impressed even with the 35" tires he had. I ordered and am driving a 2018 5.0 3:73 with 10 speed.

There is no doubt at all from my experience the Ecoboost provides the most power quicker and the 10 speed is so smooth in this combo. If you are a guy that drives above 3500RPM then the V8 is your engine. If you want the sound of a V8 then you can't make that up, get the V8. If you just don't like the idea of the V6, then get the V8.
But firsthand experience the 3.5 Eco with 10 Speed has a TON of power where you need it whether around town, or towing.

With 15 min test drives, its hard to decide which engine.

And they wont let you hook up a trailer at the dealership either.

Best feed back comes from those that have owned both.

Buying a full size American pickup and getting with a 6 cylinder is like hiring a 'escort' and finding out later they 'she' is pre-op

Just kidding. Get whatever you want. Life is short, enjoy it

I’m glad I could get you to laugh

I know based on your post history that you know your way around a wrench so it was all in good fun.

I've owned a 2011 and 2014 ECO, and now a 2017.

The 2017 is at another level of performance and refinement as compared to my previous trucks.

The ride, engine and transmission performance and overall feel of the truck is very noticeably improved.

All of the ECO's I've owned have been trouble free.
