2017 KR or 2018 Lariat
Been shopping trucks. Found a 17 KR I really like but can't be sold due to the recall. I put a $500 dep down w/no obligation to purchase, but just to give me first shot at it. I'm now hearing that it could be Jan before repairs are made. This truck was built in May so it could/would be approaching a year old at purchase time so it has me thinking. The 17 KR is at the top of my budget so if I go 18 it would have to be a loaded Lariat which works out to about the same out of pocket. I love the 17 KR interior but don't like the 18 at all. Without any negotiations on my part they're offering me $29 for my clean 2014 FX4 and a little over 10K off on theirs. So, go for the 17 and wait or get the 18 now ? They said my trade value was good for 30 days. Also rebates can change. ???

Your trade value is only good for 30 days, yet they won’t have the truck ready before January? I have a 2017KR and really like the truck.
If they want to sell the truck, they will get the recall done ASAP. Imho.

Of course they will prioritize owned trucks before unsold trucks.
It's October 28th. You're saying that a January repair for the recall makes it "approaching a year old at purchase time" on a May produced truck. Don't see that, and a 2017 should always be cheaper due to rebates but KR have few.
Rebates will change of course.

I don't see what the problem is with the amount of time on the lot. I drove a Focus that was on the lot over a year because it was a manual transmission, and it was the most trouble free vehicle I'd ever owned.
