Default 2017 FX4 5.0 Towing 6k

Real world numbers:

2017 F150 SCrew FX4 5.0 with 3.55 diff.

Towing today, I got 12 mpg towing a 5.5k boat and about 0.5k in the truck and bed.

I was driving about 65 mph on the route. Going 55, I got around 14 mpg.

12 mpg is pretty good with a gross weight of almost 11,000 pounds.

Yeah that seems really good. I get 14.5mpg towing my 1,500lb ATV / utility trailer combo with my 3.5EB. Yes I'm a manly man towing an earth shattering 1500 lbs. lol!

Not bad. I had a 13 SCREW EB and towed a 6000lb travel trailer with it. I would average 10 MPG in NE Ohio. Some hills. Haven't towed it yet with my '17 since I don't have 1000 miles yet but will be next weekend. I'll report back.

yeah, I get about 15mpg towing my Harley on an open trailer with my 5.0.

interestingly enough, I have found that when I get below 17mpg. The dash mpg-o-meter is within 0.1mpg of hand calculations. When it says 20mpg, it's off by about 0.5 (actual being 19.5). And in the 23-25mpg range it's off by about 1mpg (actual being 22-24)

If you want real performance, you should be towing your boat with an '02 Tahoe. I hear it pulls stronger.

Mpg sounds about right for an f150. I got 10-13 towing 8k lb boat with truck loaded with gear. Speeds 65-80. Truck rarely shifted down and when it did - only 1 gear.
