Default 2017 F150 water leak

Hi All

Hope someone can give me some hope. Just purchased a 2017 lariat supercrew and have been having problems with the passenger side leaking. At first it was so much water when I hit the brakes it sounded like a river running. Passenger front floorboard was drenched as well as part of the rear passenger fooor. Shop Vaced that our and took to dealer. They had an outside water leak specialist come in and he determined it was a kinked drain hose. I felt relief. Until this week when it rained again. Same thing. Back to dealer on the 14th but just wanna see how many people had problems similar to this and got the run around I’m worried this is going to turn into a huge issue. Anyone have any success stories with this issue?

Yes, I had a similar issue on my 2015. Took it to the dealer (twice, like you) but they finally found a drain hose on the passenger side was disconnected. Kept it for a week to test and brought it back dry. Haven't had a problem since.
Also, worthy to note that I have the panoramic sunroof, not sure if that affects this issue at all.

Best of luck and safe travels!

These "leak" threads really make me cringe!!! Been checking my pano roof but after a couple months everything appears to be dry inside. This after some torrential rains we had not long ago and my truck was parked outside.

I admit to being paranoid about getting the inside of my new truck soaking wet! Is it really a huge problem for 15+ F150's with pano roofs? Love to know what percentage of trucks have leaking issues but I'm sure we'll never see those numbers.

Bottom line can only just keep checking and hope for the best. It's really the biggest issue I have with my new truck but so far it's completely dry....

Man I'm in the exact same boat. Every rain storm I wondered if this would be the time. And then one day I noticed the passenger side rear carpet soaked... turned out it wasn't the sunroof at all, it was the damn cab vent at the back wall not clipped in properly and letting a ton of water through. Clipped it, dried the carpet and all is good since but I'm still paranoid and check the carpet at all four corners after every heavy rain.

Never had a vehicle ever that I had to check for interior water leaks. Really my only real complaint about this truck.

Exactly where is that cab vent? Heard several others mention it but not sure wherer to find it?

I bought my 2016 in June of '16. Everything was fine until last week... went to Costco and when I returned... my drivers side Husky floor liner was FILLED TO THE TOP. the dash was wet and water was actively pouring through the 'a' pillar grab handle. Dried everything out and started my own diagnosis...

I have an appointed with my local dealer next week, but I have it narrowed down to the panoroof drain tube. I filled the channel with water and there is no draining... when I squeeze the drain tube in the 'a' pillar, it creates air bubbles in the puddle in the roof channel...

I hope that's all it is...

About once a month I take a "speedometer cable" and pass it down through the front drain tubes on the pano roof. Not sure if it helps except to make myself feel better! Can't get at the back drains on the roof but at least it's something positive.

I guess this is going to be a continuous PITA thing checking for water invading the cab! It's really unacceptable and to be honest probably wouldn't have purchased my truck had I done more homework. To have 50K+ vehicles (any vehicle) allowing water to leak into the inside is totally ridiculous IMO. Ford should be ashamed of this BS and have recall to fix this problem.

fold your rear seats down, they are behind the rear carpet (on the back wall) there is one each side.

Wow, mine is 2016 F150 Platinum. I've had no problem until last week. SAME EXACT SYMPTOMS: you could actually hear the water running back and forth. I was scared to open the roof for fear that it would all gush out (my ignorance on how these roofs work). Opened it finally, and around the sunroof completely dry. But the floor was wet, you could see water on the handle and the top liner curving around down to the handle was wet as well. Shop vac-ed mine as well for 2 days as the water kept oozing out to the floor, then left in the sun with door open for about 4 hours for no smell. Appointment tomorrow with the leak specialist. Just praying that this is the problem easily fixed. If not, (and I'm serious), Chevy here I come. I can't live with this issue. LOVE this truck and all I've owned has been Fords, but will not tolerate leaks. No Way.

I think I read that they eliminated the cab vents for 2017??
