Default 2017 F150 Extra Key from Ebay? HELP

Ok guys,

I just bought the key below from Ebay since my truck only came with 1 key since I bought it used with 10k miles.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-OEM-Rem...tWhVbA&vxp=mtr

Anyways, does this look legit and is it really OEM? ALSO, do i have to program at Ford or can I take it to any locksmith? My truck is an XLT with 302A package so it has remote start.

Thanks!!!

pretty sure the programming is in the manual. I think you use the same spot you use to start a truck with a dead battery that has push button start. Look under the front cupholder mat if you have the console.

Its a flip key and you need 2 keys to program a third. Dealer time to cut and program.

From what I know you will need Ford because you do not have 2 keys. Also the blade key needs the dealer to look it up to recreate it.

Dealer, FORSCan, or locksmith. Make sure the locksmith doesn't just clone the key.

Dealer and that's it. It's hard to find a locksmith that will even cut the key. I'm in the DC Metro area with a ton of locksmiths and it was cheaper to have the dealer cut me a key. As far as programming, like it's been said, the dealer is the only one that can do it properly with IDS. Not FORSCAN, not a locksmith. It sucks, but it is what it is. Can't program yourself without two original keys.

Guess I'm missing something.

Also multiple posts about locksmiths with PATS programming capability.

From the ebay ad itself, also you are complicated because no 2nd key.

IMPORTANT : This remote will have to go to a dealer or a locksmith for programming. There is no manual way for a user to do it themselves. If you are having problems finding someone in your area to program it, contact us and we can help.

Trust what everyone else is saying - it is easy to program a new fob yourself if you have two original fobs. Just one won't do it so in your case you need a Ford dealer. I wouldn't try FORScan workarounds or clones but up to you.

It's also likely only a Ford dealer is going to cut the key for you as licensed locksmiths generally don't touch car keys for any reason. Depends on the area.
