2017 F150 Auto Start/Stop issues
I bought a new F150 XLT 2.7 8/3/17. First 6k miles, no issues... at about 6000 miles, the truck decided to non-turn off anymore when stopped. Brought it to the dealer I purchased it from Maxwell Ford in Austin TX. Service manager didn't know what the Auto Start Stop function was. explained it 3 times... deer in headlights look. I dropped it off 11/13... picked it up 11/18. They said they reset the BCM. (body control module) It worked for for 3 days. The issue returned. Brought it back to them 11/24.. waited for 2 hours in the waiting area... they said the didn't know and brig it back later... brought it back to them the next day on 11/25, and left it with them. Asked them for a loaner vehicle. Denied. Just so happens I'm trying to sell my previous vehicle... so I still have it... but what if I didn't? $60 a day rental car? Got a call 11/29 and was asked if I'd ever changed the battery. No. 100% stock. No word from them, so today I went back to them... they still don't know what the issue is, wont give me a loaner vehicle, and have no idea when it will be fixed. I'm reading up on lemon law now. What else can I do?

Shocked he didn't know what is was considering all the 2018s have that feature now. Interested to see if they can diagnose it. Really hate when dealers won't hand out a loaner...luckily you still have a spare ride otherwise I would demand a loaner.

I don't have a answer but am following myself as my friend bought a 2017 2.7 last night and his engine does not stop (which he likes, but still) I was going to turn it off via for scan and he told me it doesn't turn off. Sure as heck I messed with the button and it doesn't auto stop.

Have they tested the battery? That was why mine didn't work when I bought it new.

There are a lot of conditions where auto stop and start won't work. Your in Texas, I know that running the air conditioning on high will disable the auto start and stop. Basically it needs the power of your truck engine to keep the cooling going. So auto stop and start may only work in the cooler months.
In Michigan for me, in the middle of summer when it was really hot, Auto start and stop rarely worked and only when I turned the air down. Once fall cam in and temps dropped below 70's is when it really started to work. The manual lists a ton of different conditions in weather where it may or may not work including extreme cold.

Read your warranty. You are not entitled to a loaner vehicle. If you buy an extended warranty, some of them provider loaner vehicles (not a great reason to buy an extended warranty, which is usually a big profit maker for dealers and Ford, and rarely pays off for the vehicle owner).

My dealer always provides a loaner vehicle. It is just good customer service. My 2017 works intermittently. Weird because on a cold morning (23 degrees) it will auto shut off when I stop 30 feet from my driveway. The heat is not even warm yet. Then there are times it does not shut off when it should. I dont worry about it though

every Ford ESP I ever bought more than paid for itself.
The power seat track replacement in my wife s Expedition was $1,100. Transmission (which has no dipstick, was $1490.
Can auto start, stop be disabled - i.e. just use the key?
