My truck is in right now for the 1-3 lunge, drivetrain rattles, a steering rattle, and a bunch of trim rattles. Truck has been sitting with the dealer for a week, they finally looked at it today, “tech couldn’t replicate.” They want me to come in tomorrow to walk them through my issues. Already getting ready for them to treat me like I have a mental illness.

I have the same problem. Mine happen ever time the truck shifts to 3rd,6th,7th and 8. I was going to bring it up during my next oil change.

I have a 2017 and have the same problem... sounds like when a manual transmission’s throw out bearing is going out. Doesn’t do it consistently but does do it in different gears. Talked with my local service manager and he said nothing from Ford on this yet and he hasn’t heard of any doing it.

I'm thinking about trading in to a 2018. Anyone seeing similar issues in those trucks?

Mine has been flawless except for a wiper switch replaced.

Tranny shifts are perfect and no noise. Started tread about problems with the 2018s and it's sounding really clean so far.

I don't think anyone has commented on tranny issues.

Got back from the dealer yesterday.

Stated noise from transmission is normal

Couldnt duplicate rough shifting

Oil leak needs more time to observe- I think its the plastic pan and they're just BSING me

Ironically I picked it up yesterday and the service manager wasn't there. Im going to speak to her next service. Im not happy with this truck and Im getting sick of the issues.

Leaving the service department I had the rattle on startup, and a NEW ISSUE! The service department has a big hill you leave out of and when i was going up the hill I heard a loud ticking sound like gears not engaging. Sounded like the timing chain rattle on the early 3.5's. And soon enough when I left the transmission clunked into its gears and nothings changed.

Im really unhappy with this truck and Im going to probably try a different dealer. I love these ford vehicles but mine isn't working as it should.

Hope your f150 is better!

Did you try getting the dealer to check and flash the PCM to the latest calibration?

I didn’t. I don’t think they would check to be honest. They would say give us a reason we should etc...

Default Trans rattle

For those of you who had the rattle fixed.......In talking to the dealer did they say the rattle was causing a real issue with the transmission? Is it a real problem or just a nuisance?

Mine does the same thing. The 10-speeds don’t like changing gears when slowing down. Seems likes it’s in between gears when I slow down and speed up and there is a clunk.
