2017 F-150 10 speed Transmission issues
Hi all!
I purchased a brand new (6 miles) Lariat FX4 3.5EB 10 speed yesterday and while driving home I felt a shudder while braking and noticed the truck would not shift out of 4th gear. Eventually the transmission will shift out but not before nearly getting hit by another car in an intersection. I took it back to the dealer and they're taking a look but with 35 miles on the transmission I am really starting to worry. I saw another thread but was curious if any new owners have had any other odd transmission problems. The dealer "assured" me that this is an isolated incident but I bet others are seeing issues. Heck even if you're not having issues or had an issue but got it fixed can you reply? I'm feeling buyers remorse.

keep in mind this is the same 10sp that Chevy is using the 'maro ZL1, new vette, and others. Ford/Chevy jointly developed, and the only differences between ours and the chev is gear ratios. It should be very stout......but that also means very high production numbers. Statistics are what they are, unfortunately....but I bet once they figure yours out, it'll be a gem!

Ford fixed my transmission issue. Seems that the transmission had a software glitch and needed to be flashed and reprogrammed. Was most likely recalled but never caught because it shipped. Good news!

Good to hear, ford in my experience has stood by their products more then any other company. Toyota ESP just says its normal for whatever the complaint is over and over again. If ford is willing to hold on to a vehicle for months trying to fix it that's volumes better then just shipping you out again and again with no help. Happy for you that your truck is fixed. Enjoy the new rig!!!

As an early adopter you shouldn't be surprised that an all new transmission has some bugs in it. Ford has made the same mistake with this transmission as they did with the 2.7 EB. They shouldn't introduce an all new engine/transmission in their highest volume vehicle. The first generation 3.5EB was in the Taurus SHO for two years before it was in the F-150. A low volume vehicle like that gives Ford time to see if there are bugs that need to be worked out. This Ford/GM transmission is going to be very good but there is a reason GM introduced it in the Camaro ZL1 first. Low volume vehicle that will push the limits of the transmission's durability is a good test bed for issues to appear. Ford should have done the same and dropped this transmission in the Mustang GT350 and the new Ford GT first.
