Default 2017 center console slime light installed

I was disappointed that my center console light is located below the sliding tray in the console. I installed a blue LED in the armrest so that when it is open the light shines down on the tray and surrounding contents. It was a very easy job to remove the rear cup holders, they just pop out. The bottom plastic panel of the hinged console top also just pops off. The white LED also just pops out so you can make the electrical connections. As you can see in the pictures the hole for the LED is drilled just off to one side. There is a part of the latch right in the middle of that area and I didn't want any interference. The LED is wired in parallel with the existing white LED light. The wires on the blue LED are not long enough so I just soldered about a foot of wire to it. There are many options for LED colors and manufacturers, I just wanted a blue glow and this one works perfectly.

Or, better yet, red. Red doesn't ruin your night vision as much.

The front cups have lights, it's a Lariat. The rears will almost never get used, but could easily get another small LED addition
