2017 BoxLink Cleats- they dont fit
#21
The ones for my 16 fit in with a bit of persuasion but I had to wait until the weather warmed up and they flexed a bit more. Anything below freezing, forget about it.
I had to get them seated then grab the cleat and basically do a power lift to get them to lock into place. Still have yet to use them LOL.

Found my cleats boxed and under the back seat like others have said. They were kind of useless without the required interface plates. Those were nowhere to be found so I bought them from the dealer not knowing any better. They fit perfect.

Bought my 2017 on 4/13/17 and the cleats went in smooth as silk on the first try.

Picked up my 2017 4 weeks ago, finally getting around to seeing how the cleats work ... same issue, will not fit and I'm not one to modify them or force them with a hammer (wouldn't want to compromise the fit/strength) .. they should work out of the box.

They really should just say you will need a rubber mallet for the first time you install them. I had two that went in without much trouble at all, one that took a little convincing with the hammer, and another that took a lot of convincing. I think the tolerances get a little out of wack and having an aftermarket spray in bedliner can make it a little worst.

I took delivery of my truck today and went damn what's with these things. Found this thread and went oh man I don't want to go back for this. I figured out the trick so hopefully this will help someone else. I'll do my best to describe the motions. Stand on the outside of the truck, reach over the bed and insert the cleat. Instead of just trying to ram it straight up to where it doesn't want to go any further, slowly bring it up and rock the cleat on its horizontal axis. So basically twists your wrists as you hold it forward and back while pulling up. It will move up some and stop, then while trying to do the same motion twist the cleat pulling up on each end off and on, presto!! Worked like a charm after I figured it out. I was close to filling the damn things down!!
This worked perfect. Struggled with these things for a little, but this technique from outside the bed, rather than inside worked perfect!

Had the same issue with a couple of mine, but I removed the bracket from the bed and installed the cleat on my workbench. Had more leverage to push it into place.

There is always this option. Use the E-track that the box link attaches to. Gives you a number of other options.

Can you post post a pic of that uninstalled and/or a p/n?

Same damned problem with my cleats/boxlink. One went in without a problem but the others don’t want to fit. I’m thinking of taking a little material out with a dremel and seeing if that helps.
