Haven't seen mpg listed anywhere for new eco

But you can see based on the ratio list (This is GM's literature for the Hydramatic 10 speed which is literally exactly the same transmission) the gears are actually spaced reasonably far apart.

I still don't get the "first volume-production 10-speed automatic transmission available to consumers from any automaker." thing. Isn't it a GM trans? I know no other trucks have a 10-speed, but I'm willing to bet Ford won't be the only one in 2017 with 10-speeds. Maybe they're just the first to advertise it?

Isn't the first confirmed GM vehicle the ZL1 Camaro?

Very interesting.
The Added Torque can burn up tires at Stop light racing?
I've never driven a 10 speed transmission.
Would it get out of the gate any faster than the current 3.5 Eco. does now?
Does anyone know if they will keep the 3:55 and 3:73 rear ends?
I now nothing about 10 speed trans,. More torque, faster take off!
10 more Horses, 50 more Torque= $$$$

Correct. The transmission is a joint development. Each OEM will do their own programming. With the correct ratios and programming a 10-speed will provide much better off-the-line acceleration and will be in the meat of the torque curve throughout the whole speed/acceleration range to steady-state cruise.
I know someone who has a Chrysler 200 with the 9 speed auto. He says 9th gear is useless until you get to and over 80 mph. That's not very good ratios and/or programming in my book.
