The dealer had it all day today and could not track the startup rattle down or any of the other noises. I asked them to check the cam phasers and mentioned the tranny control module. Not sure if they really looked at anything or not, but they are giving it back to me. This new truck makes more noises than I can even keep track of. At this point, I wish I had kept my Silverado that was getting ready to blow its motor after 65k miles. haha
Anyone have updates on what the new 3.5 ecoboost issues are?

Mine was making noises but not excessively loud. Interesting thing is when I switched to full synthetic oil the noises diminished significantly. Makes you wonder why they still use semi-synthetic at all.

I also have a startup rattle every time no matter what the conditions are. Do you think this is just waste gate rattle? Video linked.

I have been having the rattle noise for 2-3 seconds after a cold startup. After doing a lot of reading thought it was the timing chain but took it in and after the dealer has had my truck for two weeks they said it was the right side cam phaser causing the noise

I have the same issue . Dealer checked inventory to see if it was normal or not then notified Ford Ford advised to replace transmission pump. All was quiet at first....... The same noise is back, don’t notice it when the engine is cold but definitely appears once it is driven and restarted

Mine has it. It's a recent development, not there the first 10000 miles. It's not the wastegate. Every morning no matter how long I let it warm up. It lasts a couple miles into my commute. It's definitely coming from the front of the engine. It's also not the 10 speed rattle as that only lasts a few seconds. Occasionally I have a plastic burning smell. Now I'm getting a slight morning hesitation. Late 2017 build.
