2017 2nd Generation 3.5 Ecoboost issues
With 2018 around the corner Ford dealers are giving pretty good discounts right now on 2017 models.
I wanted to check with those who own 2nd Generation 3.5 Ecoboost's if they've experienced any issues with the engine or 10 speed transmissions.
1st year engine and transmission would generally scare me off.
Thanks

1. I had leaky oil pan. Slow seepage though. Fixed under warranty, of course.
2. Ticking/rattling PCV valve. Replaced on my own dime ($10). Problem solved.
3. 10-speed got the occasional startup grind/rattle noise for a couple seconds. Not concerned unless it gets worse or throw codes. Otherwise shifts smooth and it feels like it always knows the right gear to use.
At 13,000 km now with 5,000 km towing 5,000 lbs travel trailer. Overall very happy with the combo.

Mine shifts from 1-3-5-6-7 etc. and down in a similar trend. I understand that this is normal; however, the shifts (especially down) from 6-5-3-1 are not what I would describe as buttery smooth as others call it. At about 3500 miles and likely going to take it in soon.

8500 miles and the truck runs great. Pulled over 9k and the motor had no problem building speed uphill or shifting.
