i have a 2017 10 speed with 3.5 engine. From a stop my trans will shift from 1st to 3rd to 5th skipping 2 & 4 with normal acelleration. Is this normal. Downshifts seem to be ok.

Yep, welcome to the world of 18 wheeler transmissions in a 1/2 ton truck. The skips are normal for regular acceleration, with aggressive acceleration, not so many skips.

LOL, sometimes it's normal. Usually it shifts 1-3-4-5-6-8-9-10. Depends on how you gas it. Sometimes mine uses all the gears with a little more, and I mean a "LITTLE" more pedal. I've gotten to the point I don't pay a lot of attention to it.
I just chalk it up to typical modern electronics, in other words, the damn thing will do whatever it wants.
I've remedied all that though with a couple tunes, it'll use all the gears if I have my tunes in.

Yep, same for me. Skips 2 and 4 maybe 80% of the time. I have also seen as you mentioned 1-3-4-6-7-8-9-10

Lol, it could be, I don't know. I guess a good answer to the OP might be, as long as the thing doesn't start marking funny noises, and banging into gear, it's normal.
Really though, reading through many threads about this, it seems quite normal to at least skip 2nd gear, and possibly another. I'm leaning to it all depends on your throttle input, foot, a lighter foot it seems, skips more gears?
