Default Clatter from rear of truck

Greetings. I just had new shocks installed, Falcon adjustable leveling sport tow/haul shocks. They are set to the softest ride setting. Truck drives good and suspension is firm.

but now I have a clatter sound coming from the rear, only when there is a change in road geometry like a driveway, curb, gutter, etc. sound like it’s coming from the bed. my guess is changing to a stiffer suspension, something is now hitting where it didn’t before.

thoguhts?

I'd check to see if all the bolts are properly tightened first.

Yes, shock bolts. Happened to me once(I won't say where) had rear shocks installed on a Jeep. On the way home I heard a sound I never heard before. Sure enough one of the top bolts were loose. Tightened it up myself. End of noise. Worth a look.

Happened to me once too. Have them tighten the shock bolts.

Ok, poked around underneath. I also stood on the bumper and bounced it up and down, it is definitely making a noise that it didn’t used to make. Took a video. Edit, video won’t upload?

I would check bolts first, if everything appears normal it would also be your Leaf Spring Isolator Pads, if they are wore down.

Or...
Spare tire isn't snugged up all the way.
Exhaust heat shield is rubbing.
Exhaust hanger slipped off.
Trailer wiring harness came unclipped from the bottom of the bead above the spare tire.
Evap canister hose fell off.
Rear bumper is falling off the tow receiver frame. (held on by plastic clips only)

Gravel roads littered in pot holes have a way of shaking everything rear of the cab loose on these trucks. Trust me. Been under there a dozen times to tighten something up. And I have a new rattle I haven't fixed yet.

Thanks for the other things to check. I checked the spare, it’s tight. Could be anything I suppose but seems coincidental that it appeared as soon as the leveling shocks were installed. Maybe they knocked something loose? It’s going back to the shop tonight so I’m hoping they ID something!
