Default 2016 XLT Special Edition Package Front Headlights Smoked

I got a ...... 2015/BLACK/XLT/SPORT/FX4 exactly like the picture below, and came from a 2011 black FX4 that had the darkened halogen headlights.
Even though I fell in love with the look of the new black F150 I got, the headlights have always stuck off like a sore thumb. They are too bright and chromey for a truck that has no chrome.
It looks like Ford is releasing a special edition option for the XLT model with Dark/Smoke headlights, both Halogen and HID's or LED's whatever they are.

I watched a few videos on how to remove the new headlights, and other vids on baking them in the oven to open them up. I can get an OEM set for $500US but im thinking I may just DIY.

I found it on here, thanks to another memenber. The title was that obscure you would never find it by searching. Here are the part numbers for the smoked headlights on the XLT SE package trucks for 2016.

(GL3Z 13008 C and GL3Z 13008 D) LED
(GL3Z 13008 A and GL3Z 13008 B) NON- LED

I decided to order them instead of DIY, I just don't have the time to do these and am worried about the lights fogging up if the seal is not good afterwards. In Canada the pair is going to run me $540 n tax.

When I get them in I'll do a before and after real life shots, not the stock photos above.

Awesome! I'd like to see how it turns out. Compared to the Anzos.

You mean these?

From their website...
Will this be like the older models where you can switch outo the bulbs for a brighter light?

If you mean swapping out their baseline halogens for more powerful HID or LED conversion kits, then yes. The only issue right now is that we don't know what exact type of halogen bulbs the kit's going to use as of yet.

They don't even know the bulbs to use! not good.

I find these look too aftermarket, and to me, aftermarket is skeety and screams low quality. I like the classy route.

I'm definitely interested in replacing my stock headlights with these. I'm eagerly awaiting the results of ordering those part #'s and installing them.

No guts! that don't make sense, why the steep price? they must come with the LED's and ballasts.

But ya, Im lucky I guess that I got the halogens. I do like the led surround stripe that's on the front and back lights thought, they stand out when you see a truck with them.

No, 1100 each for just the housing. No bulbs. No ballasts. Not even the little doors on the back of the housings where the bulbs go in. All have to be purchased separately.

They end up being very very pricey for the full units when you add everything up.

Ask me how I know
