Default 2016 SYNC3 Bluetooth Diconnecting Repeatedly

I have a brand new 2016 Lariat and the Bluetooth connection between my truck and phone repeatedly disconnects and reconnects as often as every 45 seconds. It is quite annoying.

I have tried unpairing Sync on my Galaxy S6 and deleting it from my truck. Put phone in safe mode which stops all 3rd party apps that might affect Bluetooth. Sync 3 Master Reset of also did not have an effect.

Anybody has or had this connection problem? Any know fixes?

Navigation voice also seems a little scratchy. Anybody else?

try a buddies phone, see if the issue is present. if the same, you know it is the radio.

I've had a couple of disconnects, but nothing like what you describe. I have a Nexus 5x.

Usually I just have to disable and re-enable bluetooth on the phone, and it reconnects to the truck just fine. I've owned a handful of different vehicles (Ford, Toyota, Mazda) with bluetooth connectivity over the past 7 years, and none of them were perfect. I'd say I've had the least problems with Ford. My 2010 Fusion Hybrid, which ran the original version of Ford Sync, has been the most reliable for bluetooth.

Hi needmosleep,

Have you tried a soft reset to your phone? Press and hold the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons for about 10 seconds until the device powers off. This will not erase any data. I also agree with whomrig. Try connecting another device. It will help isolate the issue.

Get back to me when you get a chance.

Hi denimtouch,

Have you tried a master reset: http://owner.ford.com/sync-technolog...ter-reset-sync

Also, there is a known issue with version 5.9. Our engineers are aware and are currently working to get it corrected. There isn't an ETA at this time.

Default Bluetooth F150

Any update on the software?

I am having the same issue with a 2015 F150 XLT Sport with touchscreen. I am using a Samsung Note 4 with factory ROM.

Phone will not connect, or will randomly disconnect. It is very annoying when on a phone call with a customer. I have to reboot the phone to fix to get it to reconnect some times, others it will randomly reconnect.

Hi tkarvelis,

You don't have the same system or software that the previous poster has. The issue with 5.9 does not pertain to your system. What phone do you have?
