I'm sort of surprised that they're not doing a 5.0 ecoboost for the raptor. Maybe it may arrive in 2017/18?

Like to know how they plan to cut almost 2000 lbs off for 2016…. my '14 Supercrew weighs in around 6550 lbs, compared to their projected 4600 lbs.

That article is full of pretty high bars. Lose a ton of weight, gain 15% on the current motor output, and to top it off: more suspension travel.

I'd be the first person to call BS, but I'm pretty sure that I said "no way" to speculations of losing 700lbs on the new F150. Maybe Ford is really swinging for the fence on the new raptor and really getting after other parts with aluminum, composites, the sawsall.

If they did a 5.0 "ecoboost" all the v6 ecoboost guys would kill themselves

If buy "kill themselves" you mean "run to ford dealerships with wheelbarrows full of money, then yes". Your are correct.

Don't see how they can cut that much weight out, but it would make for an off-roading beast! I'd buy one in a heartbeat! This is definitely something to look for in the future, and I'd love to see one with a turbo or supercharged V8!
