Default 2016 Platinum - $65k truck

Radio has failed to start several times. Have been in to dealer 11 times, they've replaced 3 components in dash, and it still happens randomly. It seems to happen more when I remote start the vehicle. Also, on occasion, when it won't work, the air bag warning light on left side of instrument panel stays lit. they've reprogrammed the truck twice. I've now got Ford CS involved and that has been just an awful experience. If you ever get assigned to Cathy Sheffield at Ford, just bite the bullet and buy a GMC.

In any event, it's still happening and Moday they have a field tech coming in to troubleshoot the vehicle. If this can't be fixed, I'm filing a lemon law form and going with a buyback. I'll loose money, but it's embarrassing to have such an expensive truck work so erratically.

I can certainly understand how these problems occur with the demand and manufacturing. What I can't understand is the lack of skill to resolve issues. Ford engineering should be able to know where to address this and furthermore customer service should be helpful, kind and apologetic. It wouldn't matter if it was a 65k truck or a 34k, the owner still isn't happy.

That sucks. I think Ford should give you a new truck and be done with it.

Sorry you're having issues. I agree that it shouldn't matter if it's a $20k truck or a $70k truck, the pride and quality workmanship should still be there. I do understand how it stings a little more with a pricier vehicle though.

I really hope they figure it out for you and I wish they didn't come off so "defensive" when an issue is brought up to them. I haven't had any major issues with my truck and I've owned it over a year. From what I gather from my dealership (rural) is that they do everything they can (within cost/reason) to handle issues in house and not get Ford involved because apparently the attitude from Ford doesn't only occur between Ford and the vehicle owner. The dealerships get some guff, too.

Good luck to you and I hope you get a replacement vehicle. Even with the issues resolved in that vehicle, you kinda lose faith in that particular truck and you would rather just write it off. I get it.

I think customer service could be better at ford. Although my dealer has been great so far.

I've had mine two weeks and after a couple single issues with the radio where I could get it reset, today, it would not. Going to make an appointment and start there. I love the truck other than sometimes it's a really quiet ride

I started one just after I got mine. Funny I had it three days before signing on the dotted line and it never happened. Then it happened the evening it officially was my truck and after the dealer was closed I've tried everything that was suggested in the link one person gave me and unfortunately last night after I shut the truck down three times (opening the door and waiting, it never worked, until this morning.

This type of problem happens across all brands. Everything is digital and computer controlled. Systems are so complex that problems can be hard to track down.

If you had a luxury brand you could have had the same problems. The difference being luxury would have given you a fancy loaner car and you probably would have had a more experienced tech right off the bat instead of letting some kid monkey around with it first.

I feel your pain, but don't kid yourself into thinking this is a "Ford" thing.
