2016 Lariat 502a - stereo "fade"?
Anyone else notice that when the stereo is set above 20 it exhibits a "fading" effect? Almost like it is dampening the sound. Hard to put Into words, but very noticeable.
I mostly use Bluetooth but have noticed it when wired using Android auto.
This sony system hasn't really Impressed me.

If I'm not mistaken, the volume adjusts automatically based on speed to compensate for road noise, etc. It will lower as you slow down.
Is this what you are experiencing?

No, I have that disabled. This fading effect only occurs when it's turned up, and seems to happen in "waves" during a song. Feels like the system is purposely dampening the sound for some reason.

Have noticed it as well. Had the same issue on our previous 13 Explorer XLT with reg stereo. Had an 11 edge limited with the sony system that sounded pretty good. Less than impressed with this stereo. Would imagine just another reason Ford switched companies for the future vehicles...

I don't have the upgraded Sony system. However, I added a 10" sub enclosure and amp with it's own volume ****. Then turned the bass down to about 20% with mid-bass up around 50%. I can turn it up as loud as I want and it doesn't struggle since the low bass is separate with it's own power ****.
