Default 2016 Heater Controls

Just curious. Does anyone know if there is a way to shut off the climate control feature where it automatically turns on whenever either the fan speed or temperature control ***** are moved? I find myself bumping those two controls several times a week, which always turns on the climate system even when I didn't want or need it on. Let me know.

Are you talking about the auto climate control, or the auto defrost or A/C activation when you turn the temp **** all the way one direction or the other?

I am referring to the fact that when the system is turned off, you can turn it back on by simply turning either the fan speed or temperature control **** in any direction. When the ***** are inadvertently bumped, the climate system starts up automatically.

I think that function is baked in... you can't manipulate heater controls without the system turning itself on like the older vehicles. I think most people just leave the system on the entire time at some low speed, neutral temp setting, and only adjust it when they're feeling too hot or cold.

You may be able to rewire the heater control circuit so that the on/off button positively cuts power when it's pressed.
