If I am not mistaken, the rear video camera is always powered... It is purely the APIM that controls to show the video or not.
It would need to be some sort of mod to trick the APIM to think the vehicle is in reverse to get it to show up. However, not sure what affect that would have on other vehicle systems if they get a fake CAN message that the vehicle is in reverse.

it would have to have a pass through for the other signals but if it generates the signal it would only go to the apim.

This thread is 2 years old, and relates to a different subject. If I were you, I would start a new thread in the appropriate location. To address your question, most aftermarket radios provide instructions to wire it, and most often, an adaptor harness.
