I'll give you your laugh for the day. A buddy of mine has a 2004 F250 ex cab 6.0 diesel he bought new and it had 60k a few weeks ago on it. He took it to a diesel gearhead and paid him $7200. to have the inside of the engine cleaned and larger exhast installed. Then he got it back with the truck he wanted me to drive it. He told me to get on it and see how quick it was. I did and it was a dog compaired to my 5.0 which is a rocket. As a friend I told him yes its fast....Thanks

I like how the OP has scientifically evaluated his gut feeling. I went from a '13 5.0 super crew to a 16 5.0 super crew and the power difference is night and day. I took my bosses '11 5.0 for a rip today just to check, felt like the truck was laden or dragging in comparison. As for those ridiculous vids of 300ft races (designed to showcase low end power), I have one. Two equal trucks 5.0 and an eco going 80km(50mph), should be around 2000 rpm and both hammer it. I would suggest the 5.0 would shine in that scenario.

50mph at 2,000 rpm what gear would that be?It wouldn't be 6th probably not 5th either would probably be 4th.How would the 5.0 shine in that scenario at 2,000 rpm when the Eco Boost makes more torque down low then the 5.0 does just curious?
