Ugh. I used to work in real estate development and now I work for the government, and you might have been joking, but it's not funny.

I still have the documents from when the developer had to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to "relocate" a single tortoise in order to build our condo's, and now I'm on "the other side" telling people that they can't build a huge solar panel project in the middle of the desert because there are "kangaroo rats" that use that as their habitat and can't be disrupted.

There will be a 2018, we don't need to worry about that. But I was worried until the 2016 guide came out that there wouldn't be a V8 offered. 2016 might be the last year.

Another thing to consider, if you don't want the ecoboost, those V8's are not going to be around forever.

(BTW - sorry for replying so much, some how my forum settings are set to send me an email each time there is a reply in the thread, and my emails go to my cellphone. I thought I turned off email notifications but it doesn't seem to have stuck?)

Default 2016 f150

The 2015 is already dated and lacking. I will be holding out until 2017

I would be nervous to buy the first year of an 8 or 10 speed tranny. I drove my buddies ram with an 8 speed and it is awesome. Always in a sweet spot of the power curve. It also helps it get the same mpg as the ford does with the aluminum weight reduction.

That being said he has 5k on it and tranny is already acting up. A dodge dealer even told me they are having issues with them.

Not sure if this is true but read an article that Ford was having issues with getting the 10 speed to be reliable and pushed it off.

The other day I drove a '15 Lariat FX4 w/ the ecoboost motor. The transmission in my '12 Ram is dog**** compared to the transmission in the new Fords. I would have no problem with that 6 speed.

Why do you think the 5.0 is going away any time soon? It's the most popular of the 4 engine choices.
