Anyone else here struggle between the Lariat SE and a Platinum. Id get them loaded up the same and theyd be about the same price. Still cant quite get my mind around paying same money for a "lower" level truck. I had the 14 appearance package, loved it, but the luxury of the platinum is sweet.

Count how many of each vehicle you see today, I went with the one thathat is different from the rest!
Also the huge chrome tail gate is ugly.

While some of the options choices on my truck were to keep the price down, were I to buy again today without such restrictions I'd just add the features of the Platinum I like to the Lariat. I don't care for the huge silver / chrome tailgate mess, or the silver grill. I'm also not a fan of the KR or Platinum wheels.

I would say I agree with both you guys, I had the old appearance pack and Im not a chrome fan. It is just one of those things where I was thinking about down the road the Platinum would be valued more for just that "platinum" badge. But, oh well, I like the SE look, just waiting for the right one.

I just picked up a Lariat SE and I am coming out of a 2015 Platinum. Only option the Platinum had that I couldn't get in the Lariat is the multi-contour seats. But the interior is much nicer looking on the Lariat SE than the Platinum. For did an awesome job with the red accents! I have no regrets going with the Lariat SE over another Platinum.
