I installed stock Fox Raptor rear shocks on my '12 F150 and they bolted up in the same exact location.

Default My Build Need Help

Hey Folks. So I am building a 2018 F-150 4x4 XLT with the 5.0. I read all the posts on here but I’m super nervous about this. So here is my goal.

I want to run OEM LCA’s, upgraded UCA’s, 3.0 shocks. I plan to do fiberwerx front fiberglass. F-150 Deavers with billet wheel spacers and bedsides also from fiberwerx. It sounds like I need to run Gen 2 everything but make sure I run a Gen 1 axels and Coilover which will probably be from king. Am I missing anything?

@flowmasters40 Throwback here but I see you used Gen1 shocks on your swap. Did that require the angled spacers? I'm seeing on several spreadsheets that they are needed but am hearing from one person that they are not. Thank you!

they are 100% needed. You will need two per side. Anyone who says they are not has not done the swap. Because it would be impossible to not run them.

Guys,

What about us fellas who don't have unlimited funds? It appears the majority of these conversions are money pits - 60% suspension mods, 25% Fiberwerx bodykit or OE fenders/paint and 15% wheels/tires.

If we are going for mostly aesthetics here (the Raptor looks) then why drop literally THOUSANDS of dollars into the truck and also hours of time...can't put a dollar figure on the hours spent trying to install these yourself.

I've been going for a Raptor-esque look with my 2017 STX and spent around $2k total. It can be done without dropping $15-20K into a truck that's already $35-45k.

I dont think that's what this thread is about. This thread is about adding mid-travel functionality to an f150 by using off the shelf raptor components.

1st all good looking truck. Well done. For me I’m not building a raptor esqu look truck. They did not make a v8 raptor so i did. With a full mid travel suspension. Do i have 10k plus in the conversion: yes. And would do it over and over again. This thread isn’t a bumper and grill swap thread. It’s a lot more than that.
