Question 2016 F-150 Platinum 3.5 Eco or 2016 F-350 6.7 ?

Hi guy's,

I'm new to this form, I've been reading the forms for a while but decided join the other day. I currently have a Tuxedo Black 2013 F-150 Platinum 3.5 Ecoboost 4X4 Screw with Pecan interior, 36 gallon gas tank and all the options, besides a tailgate step. I have a small issue with my radio when switching from FM to AM radio that two different dealers tried to fix by replacing a lot of the modules that control the radio & a few other parts. My truck is still under warranty and i have Ford ESP so it was all covered under warranty which was great.

With that being said, I've decide to trade out of the truck for something newer. I got to drive a 2015 F-150 XLT Screw 5.0 2wd rental while the dealer had my truck, and i really liked the re-designed interior of the new F-150 & the Aluminum body. I also like all the new features the 2016 Platinum's have like the 360 camera, Sync 3, Active Park, Adaptive Cruise and all the other neat stuff. I've been talking with a sales guy at my local dealer since last week & told him that i wanted to go with a Shadow Black Platinum with the Brunello Leather. So he worked up a quote for me and found a truck equipped like i wanted and requested it, this was last Friday and it was going to come in today. I was looking at the info sheet on the truck over the weekend and noticed it had everything i wanted besides the Active Park Assist. So i stopped by the dealer today and talked to another sales guy because mine wasn't in today about the Active Park Assist feature i wanted on the truck. So he found another truck just like the last one, but with the APA feature. So he told me he would give my sales guy a call and i could text him and tell him i wanted the new truck he found with the APA. So my sales guy had a call in to request the truck, but before i commit to this truck i wanted to test drive a 2016 F-350 LB Platinum Screw 6.7 1st.

So I'm going to do that tomorrow morning and go from there, the reason I'm looking at the F-350 is because i want to be able put a grill guard & back replacement bumper like i have on my current truck on the new truck. But I've been trying to figure out if the Adaptive Cruise & 360 cam will work with the grill guard on a 2016 Platinum. My truck accessory guy told me right now Frontier is claiming their grill guard works on the new F-150's. I have Ranch Hand bumpers on my current truck but am fine with going with Frontier since that's the only choice i have. He called Frontier & they told him it works on the new F-150's, but me and him are thinking there saying it will work with the front camera but aren't sure about how it will work with the Adaptive Cruise Control. They told him they will buy it back if it doesn't work but we think their only referring to the 360 camera feature. So my question is to you guy's is what is your option on this ? Sorry for the long post.

This is a great site with a lot of great info BTW, I've learned a lot about the new F-150's here.

Default White skull caps

The white caps definitely look better. But I think your NUTS tryi g to paint them yourself.
Buy them new or try junk yards then have them professionally done. You'll screw up your chromes. When they're done, you can sell the chrome ones.
Pay the vig!

Default Also...

I have a 2015 blue denim with 500 miles on er with the chrome pack too.
I wish my mirrors were blue too. FWIW, the chrome cleans up easier (bugs etc)

Or you should be able to get a monster discount on a 16 since the order banks for the 17s should open within a month

Well i'll see how the i like the F-350 by the test dive tomorrow morning i guess. I want to keep the 36 gallon fuel tank capacity and the F-350 LB has that size also.

I know the 2017 Super Duty is supposed to be great I've seen the pic's, but i like the way the current model looks and a few people told me some people will still want the steel body in a few years so it will still hold it's value pretty good.

Yeah it's a real Truck.

Thanks for the feedback guy's, i actually do use my truck for hauling & pulling stuff. Feed, tools, equipment and pull a 16' lowboy every now and then with a 50HP JD tractor on it. Also i pull a 24' bay boat on the Texas coast quite a bit, but only short distances. The 3.5 Ecoboost pulls great and i really like the low-end torque & power it has. I'm just looking at my options.
