That is something that I also thought was a possibility (I thought "Test Truck"). I didn't think anything of this while I was purchasing, but now that I have seen photos in this post it has sparked my interest. The carfax lists it as a prior corporate fleet vehicle, possibly an early run sales rep truck? The vin is 00081 - pretty low #.

Does your seat look like the top photo or bottom photo? Does the badge sit in the dark leather, or on the light leather? Seems like the early test trucks had the dark leather dip further down with the badge in the dark.

This one is supposedly #81 and look how high that VIN number is already. I'm pretty sure your truck was a pre-production that somehow slipped out. pretty neat. Post some pictures of the inside.

Look at the rear of your bed below the tail gate and see if you see a date stamped in the metal. There should also be a date under the hood on each fender close to the firewall and also stamped in the underside of the hood. That should be a date within days of when your truck was built.

It's too dark to get decent photos, I'll have to post some tomorrow. I probably should have started a new thread on this.

Ford announced to the public on July 20, 2015 that they would be bringing back the Limited Trim. To go on sale during the winter of 2015. In this thread, no one received their limiteds until after February or March of 2016.

Your date shows June 30th, July 9th.

The truck they announced with was White and was VIN 00008. I wonder if your truck was one of those camo wrapped test trucks that they drive around. It sure was built way before the rest of them! Pretty dang cool man.
