2016 F-150 breakdown

I experienced the wrench for the first time today. Started up after work and noticed the dash wasn't lit except for the "P". I placed in gear and coasted but it still showed me in park. I shut it off and started it back up and that's when I received the wrench icon. I contacted my dealer and they said they would call me back. After approximately 45 minutes of driving, they called and said they haven't heard of any issues with the 2016's and to call back tomorrow if the light is still on. I am a little worried now after reading that some of you have had it shut down while driving. I have to drive in and out of Dallas every day. I will let you all know if my issue is any different than SloMoJoe's once I get the dealer to schedule me in.

This happened to our 2012 Explorer - when we were fully loaded and heading to the beach - a few years back. The really crummy part is we had more the 36k miles on it at the time and the throttle body wasn't covered under the extended warranty either.
While it's pure cr@p that they fail at all, at least it seems they're failing before 36k miles now. Not sure how to feel about that!

Found this thread doing a search.
We have a fleet of about 80 2014 -2015 V6 F-150's and have been averaging 3-6 per week this month with throttle body issues. The service rep now says they are on "galactic backorder." None to be had anywhere until early July.
When asked why so many were failing and why now he said heat was causing a problem with the throttle sensor. Supposedly Ford is re-engineering the replacements to prevent the problem. This of course is what the service rep said. Not sure if it's true but we were fine all winter and spring, so it sounds plausible since some of the trucks would run fine until they reached full op temperature.

I hope that won't be an issue down the road for me, I'm pretty sure my truck was built like 10/20/2015 timeframe as well, but in Kansas. Haven't put too much in 6 months, about 3300 miles or so. Good to know, much appreciated information.

[QUOTE=Sysop;4802066]So much for Baja tested... [/QUOTE
That's where they did the cold weather testing, to make sure the door latches didn't freeze. And the windshield washer fluid check valve worked..
