Default 2016 Amp/subwoofer install question

I just purchased a 2016 crewcab XLT package, equipped with the 8" non-sony touch screen, but no subwoofer. I just purchased a non-OEM amplified subwoofer, and I'm looking for advice on the installation. Can I connect this amp/sub to the stock connection that the OEM subwoofer uses? If so, does something need to be changed via forscan to make this work? Hoping to install this weekend if I can figure out how to do it. The stock stereo is not equipped with RCA connections, correct??

Thanks,
Joel

Yes you connect to the stock connection behind the rear seat and enable via Forscan. The power is only designed for 10 amps so if you powered sub needs more than that you need to run a power wire. If you have the 12v inverter you can use that power wire. I'm running a 300 watt Kicker amp off that. .

Great, Thanks. Will I be able to splice into the existing wiring of this connector, or do I have to use Ford's connector (WPT1212 ?) I was hoping I could just slice since I don't have the connector. Wasn't sure at this point if the existing connector was accessible enough to be able to splice vs using a plugin connector

There is plenty of slack to splice into it. You will need to pull out that rear left panel to get to it. . .

Thanks. I got the amplified subwoofer installed today, but I’ve got an issue I’ve got to figure out. I spliced into the sub connector for my remote , signal+ and signal-. I ran my power and ground separately. I enabled my sub in forscan. My amp powers up when I turn on my stereo, and I can hear then the sub “hiss louder” in response to me increasing volume for the amp’s wired remote, but I’m not getting any music from it. I’m guessing it’s possibly something wrong with my signal+ and signal- connections? I also played around with the amp’s gain, and other settings, but stil no music. Any suggestions? Hope to take another look at it later in he week when time permits.

You need to enable it with Forscan. Look at the first post in the Forscan sticky. There is also a thread that goes into detail about this but I can't remember the name atm. I'm thinking of doing this myself if my sub box fits under my seat.

I thought I did enable it with Forscan. I'll take another look to make sure I did it correctly.

Verified yesterday afternoon that I had ACM "Auxiliary External Subwoofer" enabled (changed 4th value to "8"), as well as "CrewCab with 7 Speakers & Kicker Sound" enabled (changed values to 0A88). Is this correct?
