Default 2016 5.0 Oil analysis

I have a 2016 f150 lariat 4x4 and have been curious about the oil change interval. I decided to compare motorcraft syn blend with amsoil OE. Both in 5w-20 I drained each after 5,000 miles and kept the samples until I was ready to send both to blackstone. I sent them yesterday. Will post results when received.

I just got my second report done, which got great reviews from blacktone. Using motor craft blend 5 20 and filter very 5 k.

interesting...I'd like to see the difference between 5k, 7.5k, and 10k using the same oil and filter.

I tested my 2.7 with Mobil 1 at 7000 miles and it was still within spec with no issues with anything. I wouldn't have any issues with going to 10K miles

At 44k my TBN was 2.8. I did not have it done for some reason but have sent them an email.

really? seems like after 7k miles you'd have quite a bit of fuel dilution to worry about.

I checked to see if I could get the TBN done on my last sample a few days back, they said they had already disposed of the sample. But,he said based on my first and second number,he felt the TBN would be good.

OP, was your drive cycle about the same for both samples? And was the weather about the same for each of the 5k miles each oil was in use? I'm interested to see the results, but just wondering if the conditions each of the oils was run in was close to the same.
