Default 2016 5.0 Idle Issues

Hi Folks

New member here from Ontario, Canada.

I have been battling a rough idle issue that can also cause sporadic stalling with my 2016 5.0. This will typically happen when the truck is at operating temp, and is will usually "act up" after I have travelled on the highway for longer periods of cruising. The truck has also acted up randomly (at operating temp) just driving around town as well. The local dealership originally thought it was a purge valve on the EVAP system. They replaced it, cleared the codes and the truck ran fine for about a week and then it started to act up again. There is no consistent condition that always makes it act up. Looking to get your opinions before I spend a ton of $$ on diagnostics.

Video clips for reference:

Give the 'ol throttle body a good cleaning. Can't hurt. I don't think.

Get set up with Forscan. You need a laptop and a $40 cable available on Amazon. Download the free software and license and find out what your truck is doing. Tutorial is stickied at top of this sub forum.

Lots of discussion of that issue here: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/2016-...stalls-398344/

TLDR: the most common cause seems to be malfunctioning VCT solenoids and/or cam phasers, but there are several other possibilities.
